Unforced errors cost PC volleyball
The Porterville College volleyball team played from behind for a majority of Friday’s season-opening 3-1 loss to Bakersfield College.
“We committed a lot of unforced errors and fell behind early in the firs two games and again in the fourth game,” Pirates coach Dale Henderson said. “We have some work to do but once we eliminate some of the unforced errors we will be OK.”
The Renegades improved to 2-0 on the season with the 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18 victory on the Pirates floor.
Porterville (0-1) was led in kills by sophomore outside hitter Sylvia Ramirez (Granite Hills) with 12. She also had six digs.
Sophomore OH Katrina Goulbourne (Redwood) had seven kills, three blocks and four digs. She was also 15-of-16 from the service line, serving for nine points.
Freshman setter Stephanie Dounseroux (McFarland) was also 15-of-16 for 10 points and added 15 assists, four kills and four digs.
Laura Jaggers (Porterville) was a perfect 16-for-16 from the service line for nine points.
PC travels to Cuest on Tuesday and then to Sacramento on Friday.
