McGinn Cal Lutheran Athlete of the Week

Porterville High graduate Mikey McGinn has been named as Cal Lutheran’s Male Athlete of the Week for the previous week.

McGinn, a sophomore for the Cal Luthern men’s golf team, an NCAA Division III program, was named as the Athlete of the Week after shooting a 4-under-par 68 at San Dimas’ Via Verde Golf Course to win the individual title in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s fourth tournament of the season on Monday, March 26. McGinn was the only player to beak 70 as he led Cal Lutheran to the team title and into second overall in the SCIAC standings.

McGinn has posted three top 10 SCIAC finishes in improving throughout 2012. He finished in a tie for third in the SCIAC’s third tournament of the year. McGinn currently ranks fourth overall in scoring average for the season in the SCIAC.
