Allard wins again

Monache High senior Kristen Allard placed first in the 15-17-year-old girl’s division of the third Annual Rancho Murietta Junior Classic, firing a 2-over par 75 without having seen the course prior to the tournament.

Allard was coming off a long tour of California colleges and was unable to play a practice round.

Still, the Marauder carved out the low round by hitting the center of greens and taking only 22 putts in her round. Allard was four strokes ahead of the field.

Manteca’s Krysta Clark placed second with a 79 and Sacramento’s Taryn Yee finished third with an 80.

Allard returned to Porterville and the news that she is ranked in the top 100 of all seniors graduating in 2008 by the Junior Golf Scoreboard, a national ranking service. Allard is ranked 73rd.

This ranking does not include five of her recent wins, including the NCGA Championship.

Allard appears in almost all of the national junior ranking systems, including the Polo Rankings and Golf Week magazine.
