Hornsby, Chan provide bright spots

Girls: Tulare Western 110, Monache 26

The Marauder track and field squads had a very rough go of it in Tulare, Wednesday night.

Tulare Western pasted Monache by a combined score of 230-41 in the Marauders’ second EYL dual.

The girls’ team (1-1 EYL) did win two distance races, however, as Darlin Hornsby won the 1600-meter run in 5:53 and Kristen Chan took the 3200 in 13:48.

Thrower Madison Lawley also notched a victory in tossing the discus 90 feet, 8 inches. Lawley placed second in the shot put with a 29-foot, 11-inch throw.

Shannon Cruess took second in the triple jump with a leap of 28 feet, 5 inches as well.
