Grizzlies place 2nd at Parlier tourney
The Grapplin’ Grizzlies continued their strong season with perhaps their best tournament showing this season.
At the Parlier Invitational over the weekend, Granite Hills finished second with a total of 222 points, behind first-place Exeter (267 points) and ahead of third-place Hanford West (213).
Nine Grizzlies placed, including Roberto Hernandez, who earned first place in the 125-pound division.
At 135 pounds, Philip Cortez finished in second while Jesus Ayon (130 pounds) and Martin Ayala (140 pounds) each finished in third place.
Four Grizzlies — Basilio Arroyo (112 pounds), Raul Mata (171 pounds), Danny Jacuinde (189 pounds) and Jeremy Miller (215 pounds) — took fourth place in their respective divisions.
The field contained a total of 13 schools.
