THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

As gracious hosts of the Strathmore Tournament, the Spartans were less than courteous to their first opponent, routing Orange Cove, 16-4, on opening day.

Senior pitcher Sara Gonzales started off with six strikeouts and allowed just three hits in the four-inning game.

Her sister, Hannah Gonzales, led at the plate with three hits and an RBI. Nayeli Colunga and Haylee Cristan each collected two hits for the 1-0 Spartans, who host Orosi today.
