Lindsay softball blasts Strathmore, tied for 1st in league
Lindsay softball remained tied for first in the East Sequoia League with Corcoran by virtue of Friday’s 20-1 blasting over rival Strathmore.
Bonnie Misaalefua, Hayley Kendig and Vanessa Gutierrez each collected three hits, totaling nine of the 22 hits the Cardinals pounded out.Misaalefua drove in four runs — including a 3-run homer in the opening inning — while the threesome combined for eight of Lindsay’s 20 runs.
Rachel Marie Ruiz, Renee Alvarado and Sammy Jauregui each had two hits
Kendig struck out six in all five innings and spotted Strathmore three hits — counting the Spartans’ Maribel Bravo’s solo home run in the fourth inning.
Lindsay improved to 16-8 overall and 8-2 in league.
