Tigres UANL scouts identify 13 players at local clinic
This past weekend, the San Joaquin Valley Premier Soccer League hosted tryouts for Mexican first division soccer team the Tigres UANL from Monterrey, Mexico.
Present from the Tigres UANL organization were Dr. Juan Alonzo and Professor Gerardo Castilla, who both work for Tigres UANL scouting department.
A total of 123 players from ages 13-19 came out to the Tigres tryouts which were held at the Porterville Sports Complex. There was even a player from as far as Idaho and a couple from throughout the state from cities like Los Angeles and Stockton, but the majority were from Fresno, Bakersfield, Madera, Visalia or Porterville.
All players identified in the tryouts will eventually be called for a longer and more intense tryout in Monterey as soon as the Tigres organization has openings in their Casa Club — the dormitories for all players who play for the Tigres UANL teams.
The following players were identified by the scouts and whose information will be turned into the Department of Fuerzas Basicas of Tigres:
Abraham Campos, Oscar Hernandez, Beto Navarro, Ivan Yanez, Alexis Hernandez, Antonio Perez, Javier Nava, Miguel Diaz, Sergio Nunez, Edgar Esparaza, Marcelo Espinoza, Luis Cortez and Diego Quiroz.
