Panther water polo cruises by Mustangs
Porterville boys’ water polo kicked off the second round of action in the right direction Wednesday night, with an 11-5 victory over Tulare Western.
It took them until the second half to get going, however, as they were tied at 3 at the break.
“Our guys finally decided to play water polo,” Panthers coach Mickey Goularte said. “I gotta give credit to Western; they played hard. But we made a lot of mistakes and let them stay in the game.”
Dakota Shieler had his second straight five-goal performance against the Mustangs.
Luke Peltzer and Alec MacIsaac added three and two goals, respectively, for Porterville (8-7, 6-1 EYL). The girls team also beat their Mustang counterparts.
The Panthers next play at Exeter on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
