Cardinals topple Caruthers to advance to 2nd round

The No. 6 Cardinals got a well-balanced effort in taking down their first-round Division IV opponent, Carauthers.
Alexsis Arguelles continued her hot hand all season and finished with a team-high of 14 points to go with five rebounds and three steals.
Brittany Gutierrez had seven points and three rebounds and Renne Alvarado added five and three boards.
Lindsay Blue helped anchor the middle with five points while pulling down seven rebounds and blocking two shots for the Cardinals, who outscored Caruthers, 25-14, in the middle two periods and 22-19 at the half.
Ronnie Nix scored six points and Rachel Marie Ruiz chipped in with four points, eight boards and two assists.
Lindsay hosts Mission Prep, Friday, at 7 p.m.
