Hill, Snyder carry Panthers out of 1st round

The fourth-ranked Panthers girls’ basketball squad needed no introduction to Wednesday’s opponent. The familiarity proved a factor as Porterville handled EYL foe Tulare Union in the opening round of the Division III playoffs.
Kyla Hill scored 21 points off of four 3-pointers and Coriann Snyder scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked two shots.
Nancy Valdez and Chelsea James each scored six points.
Up next for Porterville is home match against No. 5 Clovis North, Friday.
