Monache track wins 1st league meet of season

Both Monache’s boys and girls picked up their first league win in track on Wednesday.

Greyson Henderson (100-meter dash, 200-meter dash), Andres Rublacava (110-meter high hurdles and 300-meter hurdles) and Abraham Lamas (discus throw and shot put) each picked up two first-place finishes for the boys.

Andrew Martinez won the high jump at 5-feet-4 and was a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay squad.

Jorge Ceballos (3,200-meter run) and Augie Eyraud (triple jump) also took first place.

For the girls, Danica Taylor (100-meter, 200-meter dashes) and Mercedes Alcantar (100-meter, 300-meter hurdles) were multiple winners. Miranda Peterson (400-meter run), Darlin Hornsby (1,600-meter run), Alysa Alvarez (3,200-meter run), Shannon Cruess (triple jump), Taryn Thompson (high jump) Hanah Asuncion (pole vault) and Madison Lawley (shot put) also medaled.
