It was a rough day at the track for Monache as they placed a total of just three at first place, Wednesday, at Granite Hills High.

For the girls, Alysa Alvarez won the two-mile race with a time of 13:50.6 and Kristen Chan followed in second at 14:10.3.

On the boys’ side, Abraham Lamas’ shot put (39 feet, nine inches) took first and Grayson Henderson’s 20-foot-10 long jump was good enough the top score.

Sophomore Kevin Jeffers picked up three first-place finishes to help the frosh-soph Marauders edge the Mustangs, 68-67.

Monache (0-2 EYL) will prepare for the Porterville City Relays on Tuesday against Porterville, Granite Hills and Strathmore.
