Methvin named water polo All-American
Recent Porterville graduate Kimber Methvin set school goal records, never lost a regular-season swim meet, but now has an honor that every athlete dreams about.
Methvin was named a third-team All-American water polo player by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Assocation. She is the first Porterville High player to receive such an honor.
Methvin scored 140 goals last year, which gave her 305 for her Panther career — both were school records.
Three Fresno players were named to the first team (there were five teams of athletes recognized) and El Diamante, the squad that took away Porterville’s Valley title, landed its goalie — Libby Falat — on the second team.
Kimber is set to attend San Jose State on a water polo scholarship this fall.
