Lindsay softball suffers 1st loss of season

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

Mission Oak 5, Lindsay 1

Lindsay softball picked up its first loss of the season against an upstart Mission Oak squad, Tuesday.

The Cardinals trailed just 3-0 after four innings, but couldn’t put up a run until the bottom of the final inning as they dropped to 4-1 overall.

Lindsay pitchers Hayley Kendig and Sammy Jauregui combined to allow nine hits while Jauregui struck out four Hawks.

Jauregui and Veronica Millan each went 1-for-3 from the plate.

On a positive note, junior pinch-hitter Bonnie Misa’alefua picked up a line-drive single in her first at-bat of her career.

Lindsay returns to the Strathmore Tournament on Saturday to wrap up pool play.
