Lindsay softball still hasn’t tasted defeat after escaping Woodlake, 6-5, on Wednesday.

Kelcey Knutson and Veronica Millan each hit 2-for-2 with a double and combined for three runs to help the Cardinals build up a 5-0 lead heading into the fourth inning. But that’s when the rain started coming down, and so did Lindsay.

In her first start on the mound, Sammy Jauregui pitched three and two-thirds innings, racking up five strikeouts and just one walk. But she struggled to gain control of the ball as the rain poured down, allowing five hits — three in a fourth inning streak that allowed Woodlake to tie the game at 5.

In the bottom of the fourth, Alexsis Arguelles singled, then stole second and third. A passed ball at home allowed Arguelles to steal a run for the win.

Jauregui collected two hits and two stolen bases while Lele Misaalefua added another hit and two RBI.

The Cardinals (3-0) face Parlier, Friday.
