Doubles pull through for Grizzlies' win

Granite Hills (4-2-2 EYL) earned its fourth win in an unusual manner — winning just three singles but eight of nine doubles matches.

Sarah Herrera split her two sets (2-6, 6-3), but Caitlin Jetter (3-6, 2-6) and Kelsey Blackburn (5-7, 0-6) each lost their singles matches.

But Maira Zavala teamed up with Jennifer Castrita (6-1, 6-1), Mai Lor joined Bailey Ward (6-1, 6-1) and Sheng Lor doubled with Lisa Yang (6-3, 6-4) to win all their doubles.

In the third round, Mai Lor lost 3-6, Ward won 6-1 and Zavala won 6-2.

The Grizzlies took two out of three in the final doubles portion with Jetta Herrera losing 3-6, but Blackburn-Castrita (6-4) and Sheng-Lisa (6-1) covering for wins.
