Marauders' depth too much for Grizzlies

The Marauders got off to a hot start on the links with a 99-stroke victory over city rivals Granite Hills at River Island Golf Course.
Monache’s No. 3 golfer Devon Meredith was the tournament’s medalist with a low of 49. Meredith birdied on the seventh hole and registered a par on two others.
No. 1 golfer Jackie Ramirez was second with a score of 52 and No. 2 golfer Daley Roche was third with a 59 for the Marauders.
Freshman No. 4 Zoey Randhawa shot a 61 and No. 5 Kim Leyva finished close behind with a 62. Leyva also finished with a birdie on Hole 9.
The Grizzlies displayed consistency up and down their roster as each girl shot in the 70s.
Mayra Ramos and Christine Jajuac tied for a team-low score of 75.
Brooke Quilling carded a 76, Mary Calderon shot a 77 and Quilling’s sister, Alexis, rounded out the team with a 79.
Monache (1-0) next visits Delano while the Grizzlies (0-1) travels to Tulare Western on Thursday.
