Hornsby wins twice against Tigers

The Marauder girls’ distance runners were the difference in the 73-59 EYL dual-meet win, Wednesday night.
Darlin Hornsby won the 800- and 1600-meter races in 2:37 and 5:30, respectively, and Kristen Chan outpaced the Tiger 2-milers in 13:42.8.
The Marauders (1-0 EYL) also took home both hurdle victories with Faiza Khalid winning the 100-meter hurdles in 17.6 and Mercedes Alcantar winning the 300’s in 52.9 seconds.
Anna Asuncion won the pole vault with a 6-foot, 6-inch vault and Madison Lawley captured the shot put victory with a throw of 29-feet, 3 inches.
The 400-meter relay squad of Shannon Cruess, Miranda Peterson, Taylor Jordan and Khalid won the sprint relay in 54.9 seconds.
