Shew scores 22 in debut, but PC falls

Alex Shew turned in one of her typical scoring nights, only this time it was in red and black as opposed to orange and white.

The freshman Pirate guard scored a team-high 22 points, but it wasn't enough as College of Marin downed Porterville College in the first round of the Mission Tournament, 65-54, Friday night.

Freshman Keemaya Snowden helped Shew with 10 points, but PC was done in by abysmal free-throw shooting (8-for-31).

The Pirates will play the loser of the Misson College-Skyline College matchup at 4 p.m., Saturday.
