Allard advances in U.S.G.A. tourney

Monache graduate Kristen Allard qualified for the second qualifying round of the U.S.G.A. Women’s Open Golf Championship.
Allard shot 74 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club to tie for eighth place, besting 84 other professional and amateur golfers to advance to the second round to be played at Paso Tiempo in Santa Cruz on June 15.
Allard was recently named “Rookie of the Year” at Washington State University, playing in 10 tournaments for the Cougars in 2008-09, including the Pac-10 Championship.
